My advice is to not focus on the number on the scale.  Be consistent with training and nutrition and eventually you will see that the little changes you make now will develop into habits and routines.  Don’t beat yourself up when you go off track. Just remember to get back on track.  Enjoy the process!

I’ve always had a petite frame, but over the years I’ve gained a few pounds and was eager to shed them off.  I came to Melisa to help me lose the weight I put on.  I started my home based program (since I was unable to fit classes into my schedule) and followed my meal plan.  Within the first 2 weeks I already saw a difference.  I may have only lost 4 pounds, but I managed to shred off a whopping 12 inches in just 4 weeks.  I always told Melisa I wanted to start this journey and never did, but now I am soooo glad I did.  My results were amazing! Who would have thought that picture could do so much justice in weight loss.  In just a month I could see the difference in my body.  My side view shot truly proved my dedication.  Melisa helped me get back into shape without having to do it in the gym.  You can do a workout at home just as good as in the gym.  With the right amount of calories Melisa puts you on, you can achieve the same goal as me! In the first week of my diet plan I was a little set back due to gaining a pound.  But Melisa reminded me that the scale is just a number.  To my surprise she was right, I may have went up a pound but I definitely lost in inches.  Melisa kept me positive and hopeful and she was right.  Trust her, and you won’t be disappointed.  Remember the scale can disappoint you, but the inches won’t.

It’s always hard to be on a diet when your office is constantly throwing parties and always had good treats.  In the first month of my Do U Fitness plan I managed to lose 7lbs.  Within the second month I dropped a total of 10 pounds and 6 inches.  Melisa gave me a plan that was very easy to follow even if my coworkers always brought something yummy to eat.

I reached my goal and thought I could continue on by myself.  I ended up gaining a few pounds back and then contacting Melissa for help again.  She helped me reach my next goal. I came to Melisa to lose 10lbs.  I tried tons of diets, worked out  a lot, and since I’m a runner- I run tons of miles a week.  I had the hardest time losing the weight, and even did crazy things like cleanses and the weight would just double up after the cleanse.  Within a couple of months I lost 25 lbs and surpassed my goal.  I was happy and amazed that I still ate the foods I loved and still lost the weight.  My journey didn’t end here… Melisa challenged me to go even further.  I entered my first bikini competition.  Never in my whole life would I have ever done this.  My body transformed in such a short period of time and I was achieving goals that I have never ever thought I would.  This is an accomplishment I would have never been able to complete without Melisa by my side.  She coached me and was there for me from beginning to end. I would recommend her to anyone interested in doing a bikini competition!

As a mother of 3, dieting and exercise can be very hard to fit in with a crazy schedule.  I started my weight loss journey with Melisa and within 2 months I lost 27 pounds and 24 inches.  Can you believe it? When I came to Melisa I was sadly depriving my body of calories.  I was only consuming less than 900 calories a day.  She explained to me that I needed to restore my metabolism with reverse dieting.  She increased my diet with almost 500 more calories a day.  To my amazement I lost 5 pounds and 8 inches!  I was told that you usually don’t lose weight while on a reverse diet, but amazing I did! My body is no longer deprived and is getting the proper nutrition it needs while still losing weight.  Who knows where I would have been at if it weren’t for Melisa.

Before I started working I started working with Melisa I had no plan and was confused on how to start. Thinking about a workout & meal plan was so overwhelming. This has always stopped me from working out or going to the gym. I joined Melisa’s DoU workout class in January, three times a week.  I am so happy with the results! Socializing with alcohol can be a big problem to the gut.  But, with exercise and moderation I was able to cut down inches in my problem area.  Within 6 weeks I noticed a huge difference in my body.  I did most of my workouts at home with simple dumbbells and bands.  Melisa designed a home program for me that kept me on track and still let me enjoy a couple drinks here and there.

No one wants to take a picture of themselves, but in all honesty a picture can speak the truth.  In my first week I was up a pound and disappointed.  Melisa told me to take a picture for comparison.  I’m so glad I did!  That gain of a pound was nothing to what I saw in my pictures.  I saw a leaner body and a difference.  Gauging your weight loss with pictures are so important and I’m so happy I listened to Melisa.

One of the things Melisa taught me is to be patient with myself. We all wish that it will happen over night... but it takes time... we have to remember that we didn’t let ourselves go over night so we cannot expect that we can change our bodies over night. We have to remember to keep going and trust the process, we will eventually get there. Just Believe in yourself!!!

Working out with Melisa has taught me to stop putting myself down... stop talking bad about myself. Trust me we all are our own biggest critics but remember that at times in our lives we just get a little lost. However, Melisa helped me find “me” again ... I was hiding for a really long time but now I feel so much happier and I feel more confident going out and hanging out with family and friends again. I was so ashamed of how I looked that I didn’t want to be seen by anyone, but now I smile more and more comfortable in my own skin. Thank you Melisa!

At first I was stuck, but after working with Melisa I feel more energetic, more fit, even though I think it’s getting easier she always seem to know how to challenge me even more. I was making excuses of why I couldn’t workout why I couldn’t be fit or why I couldn’t lose weight, but with her support and encouragement and her holding me accountable I was able to get through my excuses... my mind changed and it got stronger and at times I may be tired and struggled to get to classes but when class is done I never ever regret making it to class... Be Stronger than your Excuses!!!
