Did any of these words describe your dieting program or weight loss journey?  

 

I’m sure you can relate, and you might possibly still be stuck in this energy. 

I am constantly talking about mindset shifting here so we won’t touch on that in today’s episode – however I certainly can if you are stuck in one of these and need help shifting. Just send me a message and I’ll make a pod dedicated to that topic.  

 

Rather we will look at the energy behind these?  Sound too hippie and whooo saaa to you. Just give me a minute.

 

I talk to my kids about energy and law of attraction and manifestation.  This is sort of what my MSU program is based off of and in our Masters term we dive into manifestation for weight loss.  You may or may not believe in this – but hear me out.

 

When talking to my kids I have them show me with their body how a certain emotion feels to them.  For instance, anger….My son will ball his fist and shake it.  And when doing affirmations how does feeling brave, bold, and strong feel – sort of similar but fist pumping.  I’m trying to show them that although they are just thinking a thought about why they are angry – that thought elicits a feeling/energy in their body. So quickly – what does anger feel like to you?  When you are mad – what does your body feel like? ….demonstrate with a movement with your body.  Mine is 2 fists, squeezing tight and shaking.  If you just did a movement, you can almost feel angry. 

 

Now let’s go back to the words I described earlier that may resonate with you. Let me pick a few common ones….lets see – frustration and cant/junk food.    

 

What type of energy would frustration feel like in your body…..to me body slumped and head hanging….for can’t/junk food – I’d feel almost like a child being told no to something I want so – so maybe I’d be looking side eye with almost a pout.  Do you get what I’m saying?  Does that make sense?  Would you feel similarly?  

 

Now to piece it together for bit…..with this type of energy you are now attempting to lose weight……so you are taking action from an energy that doesn’t line up to what you really want.   You are dieting and exercising and looking at yourself in the mirror from a slumped over and poutful vibe.  How can you succeed from this place? 

 

Your identity does not match how the slimmer version of you would be in.  Again, how can you expect to reach your destination with this type of energy? Being in this energy would not encourage the actions you need to take to stay consistent on your journey.  Who would be able to put their shoes on every morning to get a workout in from this state? Who could pass on seconds of that yummy cake feeling like that child being told no?  

 

Similarly to the mindset shifting I teach with MSU or my one on one clients -  we could also apply this to energy shifting.  If you are stuck in frustration we first must determine the thoughts that are causing this frustration and shift those.  For example – you are frustrated and this may be because deep down, whether you want to believe it or not, you doubt you will ever reach your goals..  So imagine you are this person – feeling frustrated because you doubt you’ll reach your goal.  You feel that in your body?  Now we look at how you can shift that thought to something believable.  Maybe we determine that you can believe that – although you have not succeeded yet, you are trying something different so this may work for you.  How does that make you feel?  Maybe hopeful….what type of energy would that feel in your body?  Make the motions…..i wish you could see me…my arm is opening up – like tra la leee tra la laa. 

 

– it may not totally make sense….but if you participated in this feel it in your body exercise you could feel a difference in your energy and we were just pretending here. If you could shift your energy you would be taking action and responding in a much calmer and more efficient vibe on your journey to meeting your goals.
